On July 28, NIO's pure electric car brand, Firefly, announced the official delivery of its 10,000th unit. Firefly, launched at the end of last year, is positioned as a high-end smart electric compact car. The first model was released on April 19 this year, offering two design styles: the Comfort version and the Glow version, with starting prices of 119,800 RMB and 125,800 RMB respectively. Deliveries began on April 29. On June 24, Firefly introduced the Battery as a Service (BaaS) battery rental purchase scheme, allowing users to reduce the initial costs. Customers only need to pay for the car excluding the battery, which can be rented separately at a monthly fee. Choosing the BaaS service reduces the car price by 40,000 RMB, lowering the starting prices to 79,800 RMB and 85,800 RMB for the Comfort and Glow versions respectively. The monthly rental fee for the battery is 399 RMB. The Firefly features innovative bionic design elements, with a triple-ring LED lighting system for a unique visual effect at night. The side of the car employs a floating two-tone paint process, and the overall dimensions are 4003/1781/1557 mm, with a wheelbase of 2615 mm. The interior includes a liftable central armrest, a drawer under the cupholder, and a 50W wireless charging area with a non-slip design. The car is equipped with a magnetic anchor point system for various accessories. In terms of power, it features a 42.1 kWh long-life battery with a CLTC range of 420 km, a drag coefficient of 0.287, and a high efficiency of 90% from its self-developed powertrain, achieving an energy consumption of only 10.9 kWh per 100 km.
