Recently, Chezhijia obtained a set of spy photos of the third generation NIO ES8 from relevant channels. The new vehicle is built on the NT3.0 platform and is set to launch in the third quarter of this year, with configurations and power levels comparable to the NIO ET9. In terms of appearance, the new car continues the family design style, featuring a two-section daytime running light setup, with the overall shape of the split light group adjusted and equipped with air intakes below. The position of the decorative strip at the front bumper has been adjusted compared to the previous model, enhancing the sense of weight. The side profile adopts a dual-shoulder line and a hidden water-cut design, along with hidden door handles. According to previous declaration information, the third generation NIO ES8 measures 5280mm in length, 2010mm in width, and 1800mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3130mm, offering both six and seven-seat configurations. In terms of intelligent driving assistance systems, the new model will be equipped with an elevated lidar, along with an additional wide-angle lidar on each front fender, and it will feature 4D imaging radar. The overall level of driving assistance hardware is on par with the NIO ET9. Additionally, NIO's self-developed Shenqi NX9031 driving assistance chip and NIO World Model (NWM) are also expected to be present in the new vehicle. In terms of power, the new car adopts a 900-volt architecture, equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, featuring an induction asynchronous motor with a total power of 180kW on the front axle and a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a total power of 340kW on the rear axle, resulting in a total system power of 520kW. The new vehicle is equipped with a 102kWh battery pack, with a CLTC range of 635 kilometers. The official statement indicates that the third generation NIO ES8 will support a maximum voltage of 925V, peak charging current of 765A, and a maximum charging rate of 5C, allowing for an increase of 250 kilometers in range with just 5 minutes of charging.
